Law

The degree of Law is pursued by a large number of students from all around the world to become lawyers, legal advisers in business or to pursue a career through law enforcement agencies. Law degrees are and have always been the most undertaken and widely respected courses among international students to study at a university.  Many students take a law degree as the first step to a career in the legal sector. With further study and intensive training, they go on to become a practicing solicitor or barrister. However, this should not be considered the only reason to study law at university. Law degrees are notoriously challenging, and for many students, the attraction lies in the unique combination of human interest and intellectual stimulation provided.

The form of Law degrees can vary according to where you study, such as an LLB (Bachelor of Laws) or BA in Law (BL) or a BSc in Law. Often, these alternative names are used interchangeably. However, LLB focuses exclusively on Law and BA Law programs allow students to take course modules in other subjects, with a focus on humanities.

A combination of lectures, seminars, group work, presentations, class debates, and practical law training in a courtroom setting is used to teach and help students acquire and master important legal skills such as research and analysis, public speaking, and argument formation.
