Course Details
Dental Science as a branch of medical science studies the oral cavity and the diseases associated with oral tissues. In Dental science, students are taught about the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases of the teeth and the restoration of missing dental structures. There are several medical terms associated with Dental Science such as dental orthopaedics, dental orthopedics, orthodontia, orthodontics, orthodonture, periodontics etc.
The course provides students with skills and enables them to effectively deliver the full range of primary dental care, including prevention, diagnosis and treatment of oral and dental diseases.
Besides receiving hands-on training, students also receive education on basic administrative functions, computer skills and dental science. Internships or externships are often required, which provide students with professional experience in dentist offices.
