Computer Science
Computer Science
A specialized course under Engineering & Technology
Course Details
Computer science degrees deal with the theoretical foundations of statistics and computation, taking a scientific and realistic strategy to computation and its applications. Computation is defined as any kind of calculation or use of computing technology that follows well-defined models (such as algorithms and protocols) in the exercise of information processing (which in flip is described as the use of these models to transform data in computers).
Computer science is considered to be a foundational science – one which makes different information and achievements possible. The study of computer science involves systematically analyzing methodical approaches (such as algorithms) in order to aid the acquisition, representation, processing, storage, verbal exchange of, and access to information. This is done by inspecting the feasibility, structure, expression and mechanization of these tactics and how they relate to this information. In computer science, the term ‘information’ refers usually to facts which is encoded in bits and bytes in computer memory. Computer science (CS) is also used as an umbrella term to cover a number of professional and vocational degrees involving computer systems and technology.
