The test focuses on language used in an academic environment. Note-taking is allowed during the test. The test can’t be taken more than once a week.

Program Details

Reading

The reading section includes 3-5 long passages with questions covering main ideas, details, inferences, and more. New iBT question types may require paraphrasing or completing summaries, with prior subject knowledge often optional for correct answers.

Listening

The section consists of six long texts with questions addressing primary ideas, details, function, stance, inferences, and general organization. There are two student talks and four academic lectures or discussions in the course.

Speaking

Six tasks make up the speaking section: four integrated tasks that combine reading, hearing, and speaking, and two independent tasks with opinion questions about academic life. In the test, candidates must summarize and comment on given paragraphs while maintaining accuracy, coherence, and clarity of communication.
