Course Details
This program combines academic approaches with real-world experience to understand urbanization. Urbanization is a global phenomenon that determines the future of our societies. Most of the key challenges and problems are faced in cities. The expansion and growing urbanization invites serious problems to future generations. Although cities provide enormous economic, technical, and cultural opportunities, they are also a source of social conflicts as well as environmental and health problems.
In order to address those problems, Urban Studies play an instrumental role. This program familiarises students with different approaches to urban studies and planning. It will help you acquire skills relevant to a digital representation, analysis and communication, modalities and techniques of communication and argumentation, research methods, and methodologies of academic research. Students are given knowledge on using digital tools to analyze and study urban phenomena and illustrating ideas and solutions visually and graphically. You will have an opportunity to develop many transferable skills – analytical, organizational, leadership, and communication – that are essential for a broad range of career trajectories.
